The Polymer Lithium Ion cells made from Hangzhou Future Power Technology Co., Ltd. has good chemical stability and safety. However, Please follow the relative specifications and instructions to handle them, otherwise, leakage, short-circuit, swelling or even fire would be happened. And, we claim that we won’t take any responsibilities on these unexpected accidents because of customer’s mistaken operation. If customers plan to handle the cells not according to the specifications or instructions, please contact with technicians in Future Power at first. Then special experiments and tests will be done to study if you can do it considering battery’s characteristics and safety. Specifications, raw materials, manufacturing process, and production control system, just if only one of them would be changed, customers will be informed by relative quality reports and reliability data. Notice: These instructions are just for cells made from Hangzhou Future Power Technology Co., Ltd.
I.Instructions of cell handling 1.1 The aluminum package film The package of polymer battery is Aluminum laminated film, and is very easy to be scratched by keen-edged things such as pins, nails and nickel strips. So, please do your work according to as follows: a. Don’t touch the package film by any sharp or narrow things. b. It’s better to wear gloves and shear your nails before operation. c. Please clean the working table before handling to avoid scrappy sharp things.

1.2 The plastic sides of cells The heat sealed sides are agglutinated at high temperature. As production, please notice as follows: a. The sealed side was finished in the cells’ production, and has passed the relative tests. Don’t open it or destroy it.

b.Top sides Top sides are very easy to be destroyed, so don’t bend them.

1.3 Mechanical strength The mechanical strength of battery’s strips is not very good, especially the positive strips, so please handle carefully as jointing the nickel strips and aluminum strips together, and bending the strips repeatedly is forbidden. In a work, falling, impaction, bending action are forbidden.
1.4. Short circuit Don’t make cell short-circuited, it may cause heavy damage on the cell.
II. The instructions of cell storage The cells should be stored in suitable voltage and temperature range according to the specifications.
III. The instructions of shell design 3.1 Shell design a. The shells should have enough mechanical strength to protect cells against impactions. b. There are no edges on the parts filled with cells in shell 3.2 The circuit design of PCM a. The over charge limitation should be less than 4.25V. b. The over discharge limitation should be more than 2.30V. c. The modules of PCM should have protection functions.
IV. The instructions of assembly work 4.1 The connection process We advise using ultra-wave jointing or dot jointing techniques to connect cell and PCM. If you would like to adopt manual welding, please pay attention on the following instructions to protect the functions of cells. a. The temperature of electric iron could be controlled and all the process should have static protection. b. The temperature of electric iron should be less than 350°C. c. The welding time would be controlled in 3 seconds each time, and the total times of welding can’t be over 2 . d. If secondary welding is needed, please notice it should be done after cooling. e. Making welding operation directly on the top sides of cells is forbidden, the distance of jointing place and tab plastic must be more than 2.0mm. If the temperature of sides is about or over 60℃, the sealed strength will decrease and then cause leakage. f. Don’t heat cells directly; they will be damaged if the temperature is more than 100℃. 4.2 Cell’s fixing Make sure the cells can’t move in shells after fixing.
  V. Other instructions a. If electrolyte leakage happens and touches your skin, eyes or other parts of your body, please clean yourself by pure water and go to hospital immediately. b. Don’t throw cells into fire! Don’t make cells fired or throw them into fire at any time, otherwise, explosion will happen. It is very dangerous and must be forbidden. c. Don’t dip the cells into any liquid, such as water, drink, juice, coffee and so on. d. Don’t use the damaged cells. Cells may be damaged in the process of transportation. If any abnormal evidences are found, such as plastic sides damaged, shells injured, electrolyte smelled or leaked and so on, please don’t use them. Please pay attention on the cells smelled or leakage, make them far away with fire to avoid explosions. Instruction of polymer lithium ion battery's use When charging the Cell, use dedicated chargers and follow the specified conditions. Do not heat or throw Cell into a fire. Do not immerse, throw, and wet Cell in water/ seawater. Do not pierce cell with a sharp object such as a needle. Thoroughly read the user’s manual before use, inaccurate handling of lithium ion rechargeable Cell may cause leakage, heat, smoke, an explosion, or fire Before using the Cell, be sure to read the user’s manual and cautions on handling thoroughly. When not using Cell for an extended period, remove it from the equipment and store in a place with low humidity and low temperature. |
